NEW MEALS DOT SYSTEM
Guidance notes for parents
* Children will now be asked to select their choice of main course for their school lunch.
* The 'meat' choice will be specified as a red choice.
* The 'vegetarian' choice will be specified as a green choice.
* Please ensure your child knows whether they are having a packed lunch or school meal.
* Please discuss meal choices with your child before they come in to school.
* A set of menus will be placed on the notice boards/windows for parents/children to see.
* The usual menus will be sent home to all parents at the beginning of each term.
* When children arrive in the classroom they should be asked if they are having a hot lunch today.
* If they are a hot lunch, they will be asked to select their meal choice.
* A menu will be provided.
* Children will be helped by classroom staff to read the menu.
* The child then selects a red or green ticket.
* The ticket is placed in their named pocket on a special folder in the classroom.
* Lunch time staff will place a red or green dot on the collar of hot meal children.
* At the kitchen children will be served with the meal they selected earlier.
* The collection of school lunch money remains unchanged.
* Please continue to send lunch money in on a Monday, in a sealed named envelope.
* Please specify the days meals are required.
* PLEASE DO NOT specify the meal choice on the envelope.
* Please remove the dot from their collar, before they come to school the next day
* If your child will be late in, and requires a lunch, please contact the office before 9am.
* You may give your choice of Red or Green to the office in this instance only.
